Iowa Psychiatric Society Foundation Update
The Iowa Psychiatric Society Foundation’s fundraising campaign "The Cycle Continues" was held this fall and hrough contributions by current dedicated members the Foundation was able to continue to grow the Foundation’s fund and to hold events to foster relationships with residents at the University of Iowa’s and provide education to administrative staff in clinics across the state.
Resident Dinner
The 7th Annual Resident Dinner was held at Mondo's Restaurant in Iowa City on September 24th . Residents and their spouses/guests plus IPS members enjoyed the great atmosphere and food at the Mondo's. This yearly event has fostered closer relationships with all residents and gives them a chance to visit with members practicing around the state. Thanks to Judith Crossett, MD, IPSF President and Erin Perdock, DO, IPS Member-In-Training Chair for help with the planning.
Behavioral Health Clinic Management Workshop
For a fourt year, the IPS Foundation sponsored an educational program for clinic staff in October in Des Moines. This year the program was renamed "Behavioral Health Practice Management Workshop” to allow us to provide education to more than the billing staff. While the Payer Panel was still a key component of the workshop three additional topics where included: Electron Medical Records, Health Care Reform and Clinic Improvement Strategies. Thanks to Julie Warner, Mercy Psychiatric Services and Beth Wede, Dean and Associates for chairing the planning committee and moderating the workshop.
